Invoke is fully on-device + iCloud. There's no ForgeSights server to be down — if your library syncs through iCloud, Invoke is up.

iPhone & iPad

How do I enable the Invoke keyboard on iPhone or iPad?+

Open the Settings app → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard… → choose Invoke. Then tap Invoke in that same list and turn on Allow Full Access. The keyboard now appears when you tap the globe icon (or hold the emoji icon) on any iOS keyboard.

Why does Invoke ask for Full Access?+

iOS won't let a keyboard read from an App Group container — where your prompt library lives — unless Full Access is on. That's the only reason we ask for it. Invoke's keyboard has no networking code, so it cannot send what you type to a server even if it wanted to. We don't read keystrokes; we read your saved prompts.

I enabled the keyboard but my prompts don't appear+

Double-check Allow Full Access is on (Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Invoke). If it is, force-quit the host app and reopen — iOS sometimes caches keyboard state. If you've never added a prompt yet, open the Invoke app and tap + on the Library tab.

How do I save a prompt from another app?+

Highlight the text, tap Share, and choose Invoke from the share sheet. The clipboard-save view lets you set a title and keyword before saving to your library. The new prompt is available in your Invoke keyboard immediately on this device, and on every other device on your iCloud account once CloudKit syncs (usually under a minute).

How do I cancel my subscription?+

Open Settings → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → Invoke → Cancel Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then. Apple, not ForgeSights, manages all billing.

I'm in the free trial — when am I charged?+

You start with 3 months free. Apple charges $3.99 on the first day of month four, then monthly after that, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. You can cancel during the trial and still keep full access through the trial's last day.

Mac

Invoke isn't capturing my hotkey+

Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility, and confirm Invoke is enabled. If it is, toggle it off and back on once — macOS sometimes caches stale permissions after an app update.

The panel opens but text doesn't insert+

Some apps refuse direct text injection (terminals, sandboxed editors). Invoke detects this and falls back to a paste-grade insert. If it still fails, confirm the target app accepts paste — some lock-screen captures do not.

How do I change the hotkey?+

Open Invoke from the menu bar → Settings → Shortcut. Default is ⌃ ⌥ Space; you can pick any combination that doesn't collide with a system shortcut.

Does Invoke read what I'm typing?+

No. Accessibility permission is used only to write the prompt into the active text field. Invoke never reads field contents — that capability is not used anywhere in the app.

Sync & data

My iPhone library is empty+

iCloud sync uses CloudKit. First sync after adding prompts on a new device can take a few minutes. Verify both devices are signed into the same Apple ID and that iCloud Drive is enabled.

Where are my prompts actually stored?+

On each device locally, plus a private CloudKit container under your Apple ID. ForgeSights cannot read either. Apple's standard private-database protections apply — same as iMessage backups.

How do I export my prompt library?+

On macOS: Invoke menu bar → Settings → Library → Export. You'll get a JSON file you can keep, version-control, or import back later.
